Wild M8 Stereo Zoom Microscope
This microscope dates from the 1980s and is an excellent zoom stereo instrument. I have replaced the lamps with LED illumination, as the filament lamps generated a lot of heat. The arm mounted lamp has been replaced with an LED spotlight and the light in the base replaced with an LED module. I have also fitted around the objective a home-built LED ringlight made from a car headlamp LED ring:
Push-fit Ringlight
This has a home-built housing made from black polystyrene plastic card. It is a push fit into the Wild M8 objective.
It provides very even vertical illumination.
